The counselors are so friendly and made my kiddo feel welcome. YMCA summer camp has their act together and run a smooth operation. Very helpful, supportive and most importantly my kid loves it! Will definitely return.
Great leadership and staff. Positive environment, engaging program, and good sense of community.
Friendly, helpful service. Kids love it.
The Spears YMCA is a family friendly facility with helpful and friendly staff, plenty of cardio and resistance machines, a pool, and a recently renovated sauna. The Spears YMCA provides a multitude of activities for all ages, and is a valued community resource.
Everyone at the Y from the front desk to the instructors is friendly and helpful. I'm a senior citizen who enjoys taking Silver Sneakers classes, swim classes, and currently doing a Tai Chi class..
Friendly staff and lots of workout options
Thank you. The Y team has been doing a much better job keeping pickleball scheduling. In the past players have been rude to me, my wife, and son on several occasions when we informed players that the gym opens for other activities at 3. Instead of being berated and yelled at by some pickleball players, we now go to the front desk and inform them. Overall, the Y Team has recently been much more proactive with maintaining the schedules and are coming in to end pickleball more consistently without prompt.
The Y soccer league was also an amazing experience for us. Sarah was our coach and now my son is passionate about soccer camps and leagues at the Y.
Thank you. Please continue and if so y’all will be 10s.
The class is so helpful for my balance & muscle strength. Terry is a great instructor. Only dissatisfied that pool has had problems for so long. I really count on the pool for my RA.
Very spacious, love the multiple basketball courts! Clean, helpful staff
I enjoy the well-maintained facility and equipment, the acknowledgment from staff as you enter the Y, spin class for Parkinson's, and the Y's commitment to the mission.
I love the Spears Y, but disappointed in pool/sauna being closed - I know of not in anyone’s control but it is frustrating and there’s a lack of communication. And, it was closed for a long period when renovating the sauna - and that doesn’t feel that long ago.
I’ve only been to one exercise class and I enjoyed it very much. The girl leading the class did an outstanding job. It was fun and productive and I’m coming back today. I hope she’s going to be there.
I think my child would need several sessions of all stages to be able to swim independently. The parents had to sit far away, so we couldn't take "homework" home to practice with them. The sessions were too short, and too many children. i will probably spend money on private lessons that work better with my schedule.
I participate in a water aerobics class three times a week and have done so for over three years. It's helped.
The girls were given very little 1:1 attention. They were placed in a group with kids several years older than them and then asked repeat the course. Very disappointed for the money we spent.
I am a member of the Tai Chi class and have been since it first started several years ago. The instructor, Michele Walker is excellent. Her emphasis on balance and exercising the mind are exactly what I wanted in a wellness class.
I love the deep water class and open swim at the pool, but it's hard to count on it when the pool is closed for weeks at a time. And I also don't understand why there is a fee for water fitness classes. Forsyth County doesn't charge extra to take them.
Wait times for equipment can take awhile
Friendly staff, clean facility- enjoy this facility in several areas.
taking classes
teach equipment sharing
Staff is
It seems that the pool area is too often unusable and closed. More assistance should be offered to those working out on the machines.
My
Spears has so much to offer the community. So many options for parents, young adults, kids. There's something for everyone.
I like the social aspect of being in the pool with other folks & it’s great exercise.
