I AM IMPRESSED WITH THE FACILITY'S EMPLOYEES. THEY ARE VERY HELPFUL AND CURTRIOUS. HAVE A VAST CHOICE OF CLASSES AND SEVERAL FOR THEIR OLDER MEMBERS. ALSO IS KEPT VERY CLEAN.
Friendly staff, clean environment, & welcoming members!
I like the atmosphere there, people are nice, it has that old school family feel to it.
I don’t want to receive these surveys every month. This is an unfair burden. My opinion is not going to change that quickly. Your services are not going to change that quickly please go for annual.
Need to hire more adequate night aqua instructors. I have been coming to the Y for many years for night aqua classes and when you have good aqua instructors, you have 15 to 20 coming to class. Last week there was 2 of us. I worry about Hiroko I feel that something is wrong with her health wise.
Would like to see more than 2 nights of aqua classes also. Years ago there use to be 4 nights and Saturdays.
I understand that you have many other options for classes in the evenings, but not everyone is able to workout on land. Some are required to only do water for medical purposes.
Like to see more yin yoga classes.
The staff is very friendly and helpful. That said, the weekend hours are shorter than at other area Ys. Also the locker room is pretty sad looking. Are there plans to upgrade the rusty lockers and add more handicapped toilets and showers? How about a suit spinner? Especially with the extra traffic from closure of the Butler Gast Y, it seems like extra hours are needed.
I like the quiet peaceful experience when I’m working out in the gym. It’s not too crowded and I can come workout and leave without being disturbed
Please bring back the Sunday BodyPump class.
I attempt to attend group classes 5 days a week at the Maple Street YMCA. The classes and instructors are great. This YMCA needs to have its parking lot revamped. I've witnessed accidents as individuals attempt to back out of their spaces when there is a line of cars waiting at the light.
The variety and everyone is warm and welcoming.
Friendliness of staff. Variety of workout equipment, which is usually maintained well. Annoying when a few other members don't always consider others, and camp on the machines while scrolling.
I've been a Y member much of my adult life. If you want to improve yours, JOIN!
Love the staff at this YMCA. They have been really helpful and pleasant to work with.
Staff at YMCA is awesome. Amy Roux did what nobody else has done. She changed my attitude about healthy choices. I’m forever grateful
Everything runs smoothly each time I'm in.
Friendly staff, on the phone and in person. Patient and courteous
While I do like the Y on Maple, it does have less classes and options compared to many other Ys. Also the pool is never consistently available. I sometimes get multiple emails a week that the pool has some issue or another. I don't even try to swim there anymore and that is a huge part of my I chose this gym over others. I know it's an older smaller building but it can still be taken care of like the newer ones.
Great staff. Small pool
Childcare sucks they’re not trained to soothe or play with kids. My kids used to like going but don’t anymore. You have two guys in there that don’t know what they’re doing. I don’t even feel safe leaving them there because they cry when they see them
I love the Yoga classes and the great customer service at the front desk. Also the class times work in my schedule better. Thank you!
You need new upright bikes. The towels have a bad smell. It’s a kind of sewer drain smell…same smell that’s often in the showers.
I love coming to the Maple St Y. Although I am concerned about the declining quality of the Aqua fit classes on Monday and Wed evenings. The instructor obviously enjoys teaching but I am concerned about her personal well being. She appears to be struggling with balance. She is also in need of additional coaching to improve the quality of the classes.
I primarily attend Monday/ Wednesday 6 pm aqua class. Wednesday class is Aqua Zumba and I would love to see the class format change to just a regular aqua exercise class. It is nearly impossible to follow the instructors dance steps which are at a faster pace than what can be preformed in the water. I am trying different Y locations to get a better workout.
The music on Monday nights is great but most of us are not following the instructor’s moves. We are doing our own workout and just taking advantage of the music. The instructor is reliable but can honestly use some updated training.
Thursday morning chair yoga is great.
This rating is being done with regret and serious consideration. This mainly concerns the Mon and Wed evening water classes. I have been coming for almost 25 years and have had numerous instructors. Several of us have concerns about this one. She mentioned that she has balance issues. She walks with a cane and holds on to a chair or the wall when teaching. Classes have lost being fun and worth coming to. She does one arm movement one entire song then moves on to another song and exercise. It's downright boring! Wed classes are difficult to follow in the water; I will no longer come then. She frequently gets "lost" or forgets and just stops until she remembers. These classes should be fun but they aren't. She does not engage with the participants. New members come once, maybe twice then never return. One member with a neurological disorder no longer attends as the classes are not challenging enough!!
On the positive she does show up for class consistently and plays good music on Mondays. I don't want to criticize her personally but her teaching methods are outdated and lacking creativity.
The whole vibe of the Maple Street Y is losing its energy. I leave feeling, well, I've done my workout. I showed up and that's about it.
