Really like my trainer- Kylie & would recommend her 100 % at a 10. Just dont feel comfortable in the main weight room with so many high-school students. Often hear bad language.
The facility vs. the cost make the cost seem a little high in comparison to other for profit organizations.
I really like this YMCA, the people are friendly and I liked the classes offered.
With the new locker room, the Armbrust Y has really stepped up. Nice pool. Good cardio and resistance equipment.
Facilities are very nice and clean and people are friendly.
Have enjoyed the classes
I would like to see a constant cleaning person circulating the equipment. I have seen a person cleaning only once for 15 minutes.
The womens looker room need to be cleaned more often. While beautiful after renovation the tile floor stays very wet. Water plus a little dirt equals slippery ! It smells of urine in th toilet areas.
Great classes and great instructors for Seniors!
There is a lifeguard that really seems agitated all the time. The littlest of things have her blowing her whistle and really abusing her authority. One occasion a few weeks ago she jumped in the pool in an event to “save” someone from drowning when the person had both hands on the side of the pool. I really think that was a bit extra and caused unneeded chaos but it appeared she relished the attention. Maybe she’s bored? Not sure but it’s made me not want to really use the pool as it’s far from relaxing or a friendly environment. I come to the gym three days a week. I think the rest of the staff is awesome. I love the new locker room… I just think the lifeguard I’m mentioning could use some mentoring. Female, no older than 20 quite possibly younger and without sounding racist she appears to be of Asian or South Pacific decent.
I know my own habits. When I plan to work with machines, I usually procrastinate and rarely do it. When I find classes I like they become a major part of my schedule. Heather Rock makes classes fun. I leave her classes feeling like I had fun and a great workout. Participants leave her classes laughing and smiling.
Staff is friendly and helpful. Family oriented. Great pool and variety of workout equipment. Smaller than some of the other Y's which is what I like and still has everything you need. lots of parking.
I like classes at 10:30! Gives me my morning to have coffee and walk my dogs. I wish there were more challenging classes for older adults, similar to the AOA classes.
Also, the lock tabs that stick out of the weight bins in the equipment room are a hazard and they could be removed very easily. I wish they were removed.
Also the women swimmers change in the toilet stalls, leaving everything VERY WET, including the toilet seat. Gross.
Thank you.
They have everything I need and I meet with a trainer every other month to review Evolt results.
Tired of construction and broken equipment.
Great classes, great staff, great community!
I like that classes are consistent and I like the instructors.
It’s very clean and the equipment is up to date!
Family locker rooms need be opened on priority.
Really like the people there and tge class offerings.
I really enjoy the aquarium classes
The tai chi and silver sneakers teacher is awesome!!!!
I enjoy the classes but yoga classes are best at 45 minutes long.
The personal training and assistance has been wonderful.
I love the new changing/shower/restroom areas. Locks were easy to understand, even for a 74 year old. Not excited about the placement of the huge mirror in dressing room. Someone needs to check shower curtains, I've put a few back up on hooks, but I'm short and not comfortable to do. Some of the mounting brackets of on/off showers needs adjusting.
Anna at Armbrust keeps me excited about fitness. Please keep her, she is truly an asset to the community
Your group activities seem to be geared for the older crowd and stay-at-home moms (that's what I was told when I became a member), and I've found that I'm looking for others my age and with similar abilities and interests. I went through a major health challenge and was in a physical state more like older individuals and now I'm stronger. Many use it as a social space and my focus is to move and again, with others my age and ability.
I completed the Livestrong program that began in February of 2026 and I have yet to receive my results of gain or stay the same throughout the program. I had planned to use that to set time with a trainer and build from there.
Overall, it's a very clean environment, the group leaders are excellent, and I've used it to the extent I can at this time.
great workout classes!!! add more time for Pickleball !
expand the pool!!! more lanes
It’s a great facility, has everything I need, friendly and knowledgeable staff.
Need to figure out more gym space especially in the weight area.
I like that you have most of the equipment that I need and there is a bathroom & combination lockers easily accessible.
The variety of group classes.
Great instructors for Zumba and dance fit. Music doesn't need to be so loud.😅
Small classes, positive teacher.
The last class was amazing! The new swim instructor really did amazing but all the ones before that were just an open swim for parents and their babies. If it was like the last two classes the whole time- definitely would have been 10/10 would recommended. I feel like we didn’t get our monies worth.
When the courts are reserved for Pickleball, for example, they should NOT, change the schedule because kids are out of school or they planned some other event. Many of us rely on our times for exercise. They could definitely be friendlier in their greeting all guests. Thanks for asking.
Our child progressed more quickly with their one-on-one instruction. Their young instructors are very professional and accommodating
Group fitness classes are amazing!
Very disappointing experience with the swimming lessons. We were expecting the instructors to actually teach the parents how to work with their toddler and help them learn the skills, but that really wasn’t our experience. The instructors did not provide much guidance or instruction to the parents. When questions were asked about how to work with the child or how to teach a particular skill, there wasn’t much help or direction given.
It felt like the parents were basically left to figure things out on their own during the lesson. In fact, several of the other parents seemed to feel the same way and ended up doing their own thing for much of the lesson time.
For the price of swimming lessons, we expected much more hands-on instruction, guidance, and communication from the teachers. Parents shouldn’t have to guess what they’re supposed to be doing or how to properly teach their child. Unfortunately, we left feeling like we could have accomplished about the same thing on our own.
Very family oriented. Great staff at check-in desk. Improving locker room facilities. Class times are good.
LOve my silver sneakers class. The teacher, Heather, is the BEST!!! I wish you had the class five days a week.
a nice facility, good variety of equipment, very helpful and friendly staff !
The front desk is less than friendly and the swim teachers do not instruct the students on anything.
Love Bill's Sunday spin class! EXCELLENT play lists, always welcoming, great banter.
Every worker at this location is always very polite
The strength training/weights area is small for the number of people using it. I find myself having to work in other areas or go to another Y. I've started going to the Southwest Y more frequently because of this.
Staff members are helpful and friendly.
The staff is helpful and friendly. The equipment is maintained in excellent condition.
We did swim lessons. While we did not attend all the lessons, the ones we did were not necessarily productive. It was not very hands on at all as far as support from instructors. Such as when one class was supposed to be having the children float on their back. We were told by the teachers that today we are going to have the kids float on their backs . Then they walked around but not much instruction. I knew that the lessons would not be the best based on feedback from others however for the cost, it was fine. I also have a child that I knew would be hesitant and was not super confident around water that she can't touch the bottom. She looked at the lessons as time to play in the pool. We will likely continue to slowly work with the swim lessons at the Y in order to build confidence but at a certain point, we will be switching to a swim school. The instructors were fine and friendly just not sure if they have the knowledge and/or tools to actually teach. And maybe individual lessons would be better than groups class.
Convenience, price, and staff
