Well never did see any pictures all the pictures were lost items from the children , plus send emails but never got a response.
The camper comes home smiling and laughing.
From the time we arrived to drop off, every staff member was so welcoming and friendly. All happy to help with any questions. My daughter had the best
All 3 kids enjoyed their time there.
My daughter had a time of their life. She loved all the counselors and can’t stop talking about. What a great time she had.
It's comforting knowing that my children are protected and engaged in tons of fun activities. It was heartwarming to see how emotional my daughter was when it was time to leave. She made friends and lifelong connections.
My kids arrived hesitant. By the time we walked past the pool, saw the lake, signed in, met a few counselors and glimpsed the cabins they were both asking to come back the next year. They had a very positive experience and are eager to return.
My daughter had a great time and made new friends! The counselors were great and encouraging. She also said she liked the food. As a parent, i appreciated the process to register and drop off my child. The counselors helped her work through her anxiety and helped her stay the week, which I very much appreciated. Thank you!
My son loved his time at Camp Weaver. He is already asking about going next year.
The pickup and drop off times are flexible, and the kids said they enjoyed it - that's what matters most!
We’ve had a great time! Lots of outdoor experiences and fun with friends.
My child has stated the pool is too cold and doesn’t want to swim. She was most excited about the rock wall, but we did not know what day she would do it. She wore crocs & was told she couldn’t get on with crocs. If we would have known, we would have sent her in sneakers. Staff energy is super low compared to other camps - don’t seem excited to see campers in the am.
All of my kids love it!
My kids have been attending this camp for 5 years. They make me drive 4 hours each way even though there is a camp 1.5 hrs from home. This should tell you how much they enjoy this camp!
Our daughter looks forward to it each day and doesn't want to be picked up early
Very unhappy with kids activities.
Child has been attending for several years. This is their favorite camp for making friends, enjoying a variety of activities and staff. I feel that they are safe and attentive to different needs.
Kids loved it! Great counselors, fun activities!
I feel this camp is a huge let down. I grew up going to YMCA Camp Wapsie in Iowa. My twin boys also attended there multiple years. I thought this camp would be similar, not the same, but close. WOW, that couldn't have been further from the truth. I had explained how fun the counselors will be and silly and wild. I explained how camp chants and songs will be sung and you'll come back with camp stories and tails. NONE OF IT. The lack of any kind of closing or camp recap for parents was disappointing. My daughter is 8 so I thought maybe she thought it was fun. Her first words were "Mom you said the counselors would be fun and silly, they weren't." I asked what songs or cheers she learned, NONE. The counselors were so boring when I went to pick her up- not even a 'she had a great week with us!'. Nothing. So bland. Just "sign here and get her stuff." Another friends daughter was in a different cabin and also said they won't return- her daughter felt it was boring and strict too. NOT the fun camp culture that should be provided! I am 39 and STILL remember my counselors and the camp chants from when I was 8-10 years old at Wapsie. We will be looking into another camp but this camp NEEDS to increase its fun camp culture.
My child came back home talking with excitement.
I am writing to share a deeply concerning experience my child had during the week 7 camp session. During the week, another camper in the same cabin made racial comments directed at my child because they are Asian.
As a parent, it was heartbreaking to learn that my child experienced this at a place where children should feel safe, respected, and included. While I understand that children sometimes say hurtful things, racial bullying is different. It can have a lasting impact on a child's sense of belonging and self-worth, and it deserves to be taken seriously.
I recognize that this was only a one-week camp and that the campers may never see each other again. My purpose in writing is not to seek punishment for another child. Rather, I hope this experience serves as an opportunity for the camp to reflect on how incidents like this are addressed and how they can be prevented in the future.
I encourage the camp to consider reinforcing expectations for respectful behavior at the beginning of each session, providing staff with guidance on recognizing and responding to racial bullying, and ensuring that campers know they can safely report incidents when they occur. Even brief conversations about kindness, inclusion, and respect can make a meaningful difference.
Thank you for taking the time to read this letter. I appreciate your attention to this matter and hope it will contribute to making the camp an even safer and more welcoming environment for all children.
This was Benny's 5th year at Camp Weaver. He loves all of the activities. He was so excited to try new things and meet new friends. His counselors were positive and energetic. He's already excited to go next year.
Our son loves it.
My daughter loved Camp Weaver! The camp is well-maintained, the counselors are fun and welcoming, and the activities are a blast. The staff are invested and ensure the safety of the kids while they enjoy fun camp traditions and making new friends.
Incredibly organized, great messaging for our campers and the counselors were so kind and supportive
