A cleaner pool. Better hours for lap swimming for adults only.
Bring back 430 classes like spinning or add power pump as later class is too full
The environment and welcoming of the young staff.
Not enough parking is a problem. Overcrowded classes. Maybe have class limits or offer more of the popular classes on different days or times.
With the exception of Saturday morning, the water aerobics program is the best in all of Omaha, meaning the best of all of the Jim’s in Omaha.
I liked the line dance class. It was fun and not intimidating for this first timer. It would be good to offer similar classes at the Blair YMCA .
Would like longer hours at Blair YMCA, specifically Sundays—especially in fall & winter!!!!!
I love deep water aquatics. We get a great workout every time and Gretchen is always upbeat and energetic ( even at 8 AM). I ‘d love to see this class on Friday mornings too. The locker rooms are clean, but the showers seem to break regularly. Parking can be a mess, but I appreciate the 65 and older slots. I can usually get a spot there.
The physical environment is well kept, and the staff is friendly and helpful.
Its a very nice gym!
The staff is nice and the equipment is maintained well. However, the locker rooms are vile.
One can see how poorly the floors are cleaned - just look at the dark film buildup where the floor and walls meet, in corners, and under the urinals. Private bathrooms are just as bad - dirty and wet - and the sauna often smells bad too. These spaces need to be sanitized more frequently by someone who takes some pride in their work.
Another issue are the number of aimless high schoolers during the weekday afternoons hanging about on the equipment and in the hallway to the restrooms waiting for their parents to pick them up after school. It gets obnoxious sometimes.
Parking, more aquatic instructors like Zumba that Jackie used to teach, and silver sneakers taught more like Jackie.
Parking when school is in session is a nightmare especially for seniors
Some concerns about access during the school year.
I love the pool!
Good place to workout . The place is clean and the equipment is well maintained.
The water fountain between the sauna/steam room and the pool (right by the pool office) has had 0 water pressure since this building has been built. I bring it up every other week to have someone fix it and for whatever reason you guys refuse to get it fixed. I feel like a water fountain right outside a sauna/steam room would be the most important water source in the building… why is it so difficult to have this fixed?
move popular classes to bigger gym,fix broken showers quickercontinue with parking monitor now that school is starting back up
Unpleasant parking situation. Many people on machines - too busy when I’ve gone. The aquacize class was good and nice facilities for swimming and changing.
Very clean facility, lots of options for group fitness, convenient location, helpful staff!
Variety and volume of equipment. Courteous staff.
medicare covers the cost - good location - variety of classes - friendly staff - clean
Location seems a bit overcrowded. Could be due to Butler Gast being temporarily closed. Would like to see more fitness class offerings in PM and weekends. Would like to see more dance fitness offerings too, like mixxed fit, and weights other than body pump. Front desk staff could be a bit more attentive. A lot of ppl sitting there talking amongst one another, not enough visibility circulating throughout facility, including restrooms to make sure things are tidy & clean.
Parking is okay, easy in and out of the pool
No family around. Friends took me to the Y.
Check in process is not consistent. Had my daughter bring her cousin one day, and then the next day they wouldn’t let her in. She is 10 and I was sure that she was on my membership as we took her swimming before and just paid for her to get in. They refused to let her in and my daughter and elderly mother in law waited over an hour to get it figured out. Which they never did and I finally told them to go home. Not sure why she would be allowed before and then not allowed the day I'm not there. The front desk people are more concerned with talking to each other or their phones to actually help. The time before when me, my daughter and Husband came there were 3 people at the desk and they ignore us until I said something. Some of them are nice and do a great job, others, not so much.
Make sure the high school weight room is open during the scheduled hours. Break up groups of kids standing around not exercising. Have the employees not huddle at the desk
The facility is well kept and clean and the people working there are friendly
Clean, plenty of machines, friendly staff.
The facility is very nice and welcoming and I like the variety of classes.
Great place but need more supervision on kids on their cell phones just sitting on the machines.
The people are friendly and close by to help with whatever you need. Overall the facility is clean. The bathrooms, though, at times do NOT smell clean as if they haven't been cleaned for a couple days.
Love the water classes. Gretchen is a great teacher. I also enjoy Mary Lou and Kelly
Have arrived to a few classes where the instructor did not show up and the front desk did not seem to care or make an effort to find out why
Great pool. Great staff.
The facilities are always clean, well kept, and welcoming to all fitness levels. Your staff is friendly, professional and lovely to work with both in the facility and with the youth sports. It is so wonderful to be able to utilize different Y's throughout Omaha for an extremely reasonable membership price.
Love the staff, course offerings and facility.
This facility is clean and bright. Mary Lou is a fabulous instructor of the strength and stretch class.
Way to hot in yoga room.
I do not want this rating to be reflective of my son’s swim coach, Jeff. He has been so awesome & my son enjoys his lessons! I gave a zero because the aquatics director, Reggie Wright has been absolutely awful about communication. We had to miss our first lesson, which was on July 3rd because we were out of town for the holiday. I reached out to him about a possible make-up lesson. I emailed once, didn’t hear back so when I was at the club the following week, I asked to speak to him. He wasn’t there that day. The front desk associate emailed him to reach out to me. Never heard from him. I emailed him yet again and basically begged for a response! Again, silence. I called the club yet again because I signed my son Oliver up for another set of private lessons, and also signed my 2.5 year old up and wanted to be sure I chose the correct lesson for my 2.5 year old. Reggie wasn’t in, surprise surprise! The associate on the phone CC’d him on an email to PLEASE reach out to me. To this day, I have not spoken to Reggie. If I wasn’t so impressed with Oliver’s swim coach, I would pull him out and never go back to TY e Y for lessons and urge everyone else to stay away for the mere fact they can’t even get back to their clients. Absolutely ridiculous. This has been since the 4th of July weekend. It is now August 6th. Pathetic.
The women's locker room was filthy! Hair on the floor, in the showers. Also, one of the private showers was very dirty. I wondered when the last time someone mopped since I was there in the late morning.
People are very polite and I love the lap swimming and it is fun and makes a person want to go more with a friend. They need 1 more row the boat machine a lot of people like it and you only have 1 by the treadmills
The private swim lessons have been MUCH better than the group lessons and my son improved quickly. I have noticed the quality can be hit or miss depending on the instructor. Titus has been great. I can't remember the name of the guy he had last time but he did not challenge him enough or let him swim independently very much even though he was capable. There have also been a few female instructors that we have had great experience with.
I greatly appreciated that the classes actually teach and aren’t just spent playing aro
The aquatic director cares about how parents are feeling about their children’s swim lessons. I had an issue with an instructor, and he actively tried to make it right. I appreciated that a lot! The only reason why I can’t give a 10/10 is because it is very hot in the pool area and there isn’t very good seating for parents watching their kids in swim lessons. Those two things make it fairly uncomfortable as a parent to sit through their kids’ swim lessons.
Our first two sessions were great. We were disappointed in our third instructor, brought it up to the supervisor in person and through email and never received mail back. This definitely has changed our experience at Westview.
Very poor instruction. The teachers looked completely disinterested and bored. They did not verbalize very well how to execute the swimming move. They did not physically demonstrate the swimming move. It appeared that they were afraid to get their hair wet. They seemed extremely disconnected from their students. They did not even watch them when they were performing the swimming activity. They gave no correction in regards to how to make the swimming better and stronger nor did they give any reinforcement comments.
Lots of kids around.
Too many kids on their phones tying up equipment. Needs to be monitored by staff just sitting up at the front desk.
Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The facility is nice and clean at all times.
The staff is friendly, there is a nice variety of classes offered.
