My boys enjoyed their first swim lesson. The instructor was patient and worked well with them. They're looking forward to their next session.
I have been extremely frustrated with the 6m-2 year old swim class. The main issue is that the pool is not at an appropriate temperature for such small babies and every week I have to pull my baby out of the water early because she is turning blue from how cold the pool is. If the facility is not capable of having the pool be heated to a safe temperature, then they should not offer a class for babies. It is absolutely unacceptable and I feel a refund should be issued to many of the parents. Each time there is a different excuse for the inappropriate water temperature once we are there, and it is never communicated to parents that the water temperature is unsafe for the class.
I love my Y. The only two things are there’s no Badminton timing and pickle ball timing is very limited.
the staff
The Y is a very welcome place. It keeps me feeling connected to my community and it allows me the freedom to exercise while my daughter has a great time at child watch!
Cold water, very hard to hear instructors
Instructors are very patient and knowledgeable. My son’s instructor meets him where he is. He encourages my son to try in a fun and relaxing way giving him the confidence to try. This is our 3rd swimming class and we feel that we are finally seeing progress with the instruction method at the Y.
Great instructor
Miss Liz is my son's teacher and she is wonderful! He's come such a long way with her. She's the perfect mix of kind and tough and his confidence is soaring 😊
Night hours
I just wanted to take a moment to express how impressed I have been with the YMCA Aquatic Center and the overall experience there.
The Master’s swim program has been incredibly beneficial for me, and Coach Dan has done an outstanding job. His coaching, encouragement, and attention to the swimmers truly make a difference and create an environment that is both motivating and welcoming.
I’ve also been consistently impressed by the professionalism and kindness of everyone at the facility. From the people at the front desk to the lifeguards and staff, everyone has been accommodating, friendly, and genuinely helpful.
It’s clear that a lot of care goes into creating such a positive atmosphere, and it does not go unnoticed. Thank you all for making it such a great place to train and be a part of.
Thank you
Nick is a phenomenal swim teacher and has such a special heart for kids. He makes the kids feel safe, welcomed, and excited.
Reception staff is friendly and helpful, swim instructor Miss Terry is excellent, lifeguards are helpful and most are friendly. Gym facility is very good. I have not taken classes yet. Only improvement I'd like so far is if we could occasionally reschedule a swim lesson within the same or next week. At this time of year there are a lot of events and we had to miss 2 lessons within a couple months.
As a lap swimmer there is always accommodation for us, even if there is a class in the pool, lanes are kept open. I appreciate that. The hot tub is delightful.
The children's classes are great and our daughter thoroughly enjoys it!
Ray has been extremely accommodating and helpful over the past few weeks. He has been extremely flexible and willing to make sure everything is fair.
if the class starts a few minutes late make sure to add that on to the end of current session, thanks!
They know what they are doing. It was amazing just before the ending of my son's first class he was able to swim in the deep water he was very much surprised himself. This is truly amazing.
Friendly environment, great community
Great place for family !
The teacher is always changing and when it is the normal teacher he is often late or talking with others instead of teaching
I wish the classes had more variety. Teachers just seems to do the same songs and routines week by week. I don't feel like we're making any progress really.
Make more classes accessible by adding more or stagger times. My son is unable to go up in level because we are on the waitlist for an opening in level 3. Staggering class levels could help families with multiple children in different class levels. It's difficult for young families with multiple kids to come more than one day a week due to other extra curriculars and late school dismissal. (For instance, Sparta district elementary dismissal is at 3:45pm ruling out the 4pm weekday class.) Weekend days are also difficult due to certain activities only being available on weekends. Swim is otherwise very important to us. My kids love it and we have been very happy with the program.
Noah is a good instructor my son likes how He is patient and fun.
Water could be warmer. Otherwise my son loves it
