I really enjoy the variety of programs and activities the sports center offers, and I appreciate the effort put into making them engaging. At the same time, I hope to see even more options added in the future. It would also be wonderful if the pool schedule could include specific times dedicated for women.
The programs are great, but the transfer of skills/learning depends on the instructor for each session; some are better than others in terms of their ability to manage six kids simultaneously while teaching them.
THE Y is like an extension of our Home.Friendliness and orderliness of everything. Swim lessons are very enjoyable for my children.
Lifeguards are good at t engaging kids
Instructors are great but class sizes are too large and quality of instruction and time is impacted due to limited one on one interaction with each student. Inconsistent follow up on activities that need repetition to build the skill especially for weaker swimmers. Would like to see progress with my child when she attends these classes, I have started to look elsewhere for quality as I feel this class has more of a focus on quantity.
Fun activities offered to kids, friendly staff and convenient location.
Start on time
It is very safe and fun place for everyone. Especially, during the summer time!!
Too many people in the pool makes it hard to practice.
Swimming lessons. My son had the best instructor this summer . Nolan. He learned more in this lesson then all previous lessons combined (torpedoes age 16) The music is way too loud in the pool area though. Everyone is yelling at each other. Please, please keep it turned down low.
Lifeguards should introduce themselves to the kids on day 1 as kids are signed in. Report cards should be released on time (we had one report card that never did end up online from June 2025). Consistency in instructors week to week is usually fine but one session we had a different instructor each week
very good
What I love most about your programs and activities is the incredible level of care and individual attention provided — especially in the Swimmable program. The swimming instructors have been absolutely outstanding. Their patience, kindness, and 1-on-1 support have made a world of difference for my child, who has special needs. It's not easy to find programs that are both inclusive and genuinely supportive, but your team goes above and beyond. They've created a space where my child feels safe, confident, and excited to learn — and as a parent, that means everything Thank you for offering such meaningful and well-run programs. They truly make an impact.
Good family pool for lessons and fun. Friendly safe guards and coaches.
Volunteers and teachers are kind and friendly.
Nice facilities.
I like that it's more advanced than the other classes, and that the swim instructors are very nice and friendly.
I like the instructors, they are very friendly and approchable.
Excellent
Getting really annoyed of being place on wait lists and never getting a spot for any swimming or dry activities. If things don't improve I'll be canceling my family membership
My children have had the opportunity to enjoy fun swimming classes that have allowed them to advance their learning level and practice their skills.
Thank you
Dear Kriss, I would like to share some feedback about my recent experience at your facility. I found the pool to be overcrowded and somewhat disorganized. The showers, lockers, and changing rooms were not clean, and the pool staff appeared unprofessional. Additionally, the swimming lessons were of poor quality, feeling more like casual playtime in the water rather than structured instruction. I hope this feedback helps improve the experience for all visitors. Kind regards,
If they are closed for the scheduled swimming classes, they never used to call us and inform us. We take off or adjust our schedule but information on phone or email. So very disappointed.
The instructors
I would like swimming, badminton and gym
Some of the instructors waste time because they are very friendly and kind. These are really good qualities in a person but not when they are trying to teach kids and control their class. I'm sorry I don't want to be mean but I want my kid to benefit the max from the lessons. Don't get me wrong I really appreciate everything you and the instructor are doing but sometimes too much softness will make it harder for the kids to improve. Thank you 🙏
Smaller classes to give time to the students to practice their skills
The floor is so dirty in the family Room
Open more early on the weekends
It's the best!
Overall, both of my children really enjoy coming to swimming lessons and have been coming for 9.5 years now. The only concern is this term with the turnover of my youngest son's instructor. I completely understand that things happen and these situations cannot be controlled. I am also a Y employee and aware of how these can happen when running a program. This instructor (not sure his name but Saturdays at 11:15 is not there often and at times seems uninterested when interacting with the kids (my son often feels uncomfortable with this instructor and seems to like it more when someone else is filling in) it is nothing personal towards this young man, and we are unsure of any circumstances etc, just basing off what we observe and how my son reacts with him and how he does with others
People are wearing Street shoes and dirty boots beside the pool and the steam room is always dirty.
The aquatics program is amazing and my kids really enjoyed learning how to swim.
.
The facility is very dirty. The change rooms have multiple broken lockers, poor condition change rooms. There is very limited space in swim programs and the pools are extremely busy. Very limited space for lane swimming.
No stable instructors, every week new one spoil the rythme of learning. Must have mature instructors who understand their responsibility to teach and let helpful to learner's to learn faster.
Organized and staff pay attention to individual children's needs
Had great programs for all ages
Staff are very friendly
Have all lifeguards introduce themselves to the kids at the beginning of the first few classes. It helps with kids meeting new instructors and building trust. Start lessons on time, even if some kids are late.
Swim lessons are so convenient for families. The steam room is a nice benefit to the membership and I love the variety of classes and the great instructors!
My children always love going to YMCA for swimming class. you offer excellent facility for family and kind coach.
We love the SwimAble program, my son really enjoys his lessons and is slowly learning important skills in the water. The instructors are very patient and try really hard to engage my son is his lesson despite his less than stellar listening skills.
Haven't got a report about this level, so couldn't go to the next level. Other thing, such as teaching and learning atmosphere is pretty good.
Activities like swimming, gym basically everything there is just perfect for us as a family
classes are too short in my opinion, 30 minutes isn't enough.
The big pool was too crowded for the kids to effectively learn. Swimmer 1 and 2 barely had half a lane each for more than 6 kids in each class. Once the City of London classes stopped, it was much calmer and the kids were able to focus and practice better in their respective lanes as it was less crowded.
The first teacher we had wasn't engaging enough for my kids. She was very quiet. The following week we had a young guy who was great. The kids loved him and felt comfortable with him as he was very engaging. I'm not sure what training is involved but maybe ensuring the teachers are very engaging with the kids or having a training day prior on how to engage children. My middle son did not want to participate and was anxious. If the teacher had asked him to join personally etc it would've gone a long way. Thankfully he was more comfortable the following week with the new teacher and having gone to the pool with his family in between. He's a great swimmer (better than me!) but he gets anxious in scenarios.
You have way too many rules it's not fun forcing parents to swim beside their kids with lifeguards on duty is ridiculous I pay for vip.and can use it because you don't allow kids in there waste of money!!!
