The James P Gills Family YMCA is a beautiful facility with staff that are both pleasant and helpful.
There is a perception that changes are made without thinking how it will affect the members.
More in water exercise classes
The process to join was fast and easy. The staff is friendly and accommodating. Lots of suggestions for workouts and classes. Its a great place for me.
.
Feels like family. Always welcomed and kind .
It’s a home away from home
Very friendly and welcoming
I've actually already recommended it to someone to take their child for the summer to aide in keeping their daughter busy and happy this summer ☀️
For the most part this is a good program. Only "complaint" is that a coach, with a team in an age group 8-9, 10-12, etc., should not referee a game in the same age group. Understanding that the Y relies a lot on volunteers, a couch should not ref in the age group he/she has a vested interest in. Otherwise, this program is very good!
Love the family feeling with instructors and group participants even though I don’t know everyone.
Clean, Friendly, Safe
has gotten very crowded. New fitness/weight equipment very large; made for tall people. Have found that many of the machines are awkward to use because of my short stature.
The new equipment is great and I love the new circuit training!!
I would like to mark YMCA 10, but after reconstruction you don't have aria with monkey bars for children. I used to go to the gym with my 11 years old kid. And we could spend time together in that aria. Now she stoped coming to the gym. It's very sad
The EGym is fantastic. Exactly what helped me have a regimented program. Thanks
E gym is the best thing for me personally. I feel better now than I've felt in years.
EGYM is awesome!
I have fun and learn a lot about how to stay balanced and mobile in Carrie’s class.
Please pray different music. You claim to be a Christian organization, but you play secular music. Rock
We’ve been coming to the Y a long time, I’ve expressed concern over the cleanliness of the pool, the swim coaches on their phones during swim practice and lifeguards not really watching but chatting with other lifeguards. We
The Y is the best way to stay active, healthy, and connected moving into your “Golden Years”.
Recently joined and am enjoying it with one exception. A number of group classes on Monday are at the same time as the Food Drive. This makes parking a real challenge and increases the congestion at the entrance to the building. The Food Drive is a great community service but maybe scheduling a little earlier in the day and delay the classes on Mondays might help. Otherwise Go Gills!
The Egym has been a game changer for my husband and I. Then we do some biking and treadmill. We feel like we are getting a better workout now.
I love the facility. Everything is so modern and clean.
Everything new
Staff was willing to help and answered questions as they came up!
I am enjoying the variety of classes and all the teachers
Mike is very respectful and mindful
There has just been continued inconsistency with the water aerobics/exercises classes. Things are improving but it would be nice if a backup instructor could be found.
Staff very helpful.
They have a great variety of classes. Good teachers.
I haven't been to this location since the remodel. Very impressed with everything overall.
Always get a hi or good bye clean place
The facility is modern and up to date and has something for every age.
I’m a new member and my experience at the Y has been really positive so far. The staff has been friendly & helpful, the members have been kind & welcoming, and the workouts have been great!
All new equipment; especially like the E Gym machines
Maybe consider a no phones in the gym area as many members sit on machines looking at their phones while others
wait. No need to be looking at phones while on the equipment.
General gym etiquette of letting others work in on a given machine is missing.
Equipment is excellent. Staff is friendly.
friendly staff, clean facilities, nice kiddie pool area, love the pickleball courts
Classes zumba,weights ,water aerobics, egym
Thought i would be bored in my retorement hadnt exercised in 38 years
Need more classes for seniors every day including the weekends. Not enough classes!!!
The renovation is really great! I especially like the egym.
Classes, weight room, pools, employees
Would like an indoor track to either walk or run on.
JPG YMCA is an A+ facility. We recently relocated out of state and I very much miss the Y.
I love it there and with that new circuit. He gym , you're in competition with yourself and it makes it fun
I stated below that your new remodel & cleanliness are positive. A couple of suggestions would be to put a time limit the fitness machines. Some people sit on them & read their phones. Also, you need a trash can in the handicap stall in the ladies restroom. Overall, good job on your improvements!
The quality of employees & equipment
Love the new set up and machines! Taking the giant cement wall away made a big difference, looks bigger and more open. All the remodeling has been done well and looks clean and nice. 👍🏼
Recent upgrades make for a nice experience
you just got all this new equipment and some of it is without meaning for me, in fact, inferior...I was under the impression that we would get an opportunity to do evaluations. I was told at Geigle Y that they sent out evaluations after 3 weeks from getting all the new equipment and changed out 3 machines as a result - still waiting
The kids zone staff are so amazing Miss Angela is wonderful with the kids.
Yes, I really like the Y but it's really getting get busy and less enjoyable. It's tough because I want it to be successful and everyone to enjoy it but it can be difficult at times to find space or machines at the gym or be in the pool because it can be really busy at times.
