You need to build an Aquatic Center. Built for a swim tram and events.also includes family lounging and playing.
I have suggested to friends to come try us out, even as a guest.
Because of it’s convenience equipment
the best place to share outdoors
Some instructors are not friendly and very old so the expectation is different for a younger person. They forget that some people actually pay for the membership and is NOT FREE. So for that reason I wouldn’t recommend because of some instructors.
Very upset you no longer have a kettlebell class!
If you have insurance that will cover the cost, I'd say "Yeah join". The people who work there are great. The trainers are great. If you have to pay out of pocket I would say that there are cheaper options. Like even for people who are low income. It says on their website that they help people with an inability to pay. Back when I had literally no income (waiting on disability) they said the lowest they could do was $25 a month. How is that helping people with an inability to pay when Planet Fitness is only $10 a month at full price?
It is also a little weird that everyone is standing when you walk in, now. It never used to be like that. Such a weird recent change. Like why aren't the old ladies who volunteer allowed to sit? And why does the Facebook page never post about events until like the day they are happening or well after they have already happened. Or even weirder when they posted about the September 11th thing at the beginning of June with a disclaimer that said "after July the price will go up".... the price for the free shirt??? Like the timing of announcements of events is really weird. And the pricing of things is also really weird. Idk I love the people (employees, volunteers, members, trainers, etc everyone is awesome and helpful and everything ). But the policies make little sense. Also they are really pushing this Egym stuff which is weird because the normal non digital equipment (weights, trx, machines, etc) works just fine and has for decades.
Great variety of activities to chose from
Complete Gym plus pool, various rooms for other physical activities, friendly helpful staff, showers, lockers, restrooms, everything just first class.
The YMCA offered a lot more in a membership then a regular gym.
I would definitely recommend the YMCA to my friends and family
Always clean and staff are always helpful.
As someone who does no exercise I enjoy being able to use the egym. I can focus on the exercise without having to worry if I’m doing too little or too much. The locker rooms are clean and the staff is friendly. So far I’ve taken one HIIT class and it was no joke, it definitely was an intense workout.
E-gym and other equipment are well maintained. Staff is knowledgeable and friendly
Dusty did an excellent job showing me around and explaining how to use the equipment.
Very friendly staff
We need more subs for our Zumba classes.
Improve the coffee/refreshments area
Significant changes to the facility and staff have been tremendous. The new gym equipment is great and the addition of the E-gym is great for the older crowd. Everyone has been just fantastic.
I love the classes at my YMCA! Barbara and Stacy in the morning both rock!
We rely heavily on the app for schedules and classes. The app never shows when lifeguards are in training and the pool is closed. The app never shows when camp kids are doing swim testing. The app doesn’t show when any kids are swim testing. So we show up to the pool for lap swim and find out the lanes aren’t even available or that the pool is closed for lifeguard training. Please do a better job in adding specifics to the app so that nobody wastes gas to drive there, having to turn around. Also, please clean the pool more. There’s always wrappers, food, bugs and hair in it.
It’s so busy during the day it’s hard to get into morning classes and seems the emptiest times are late afternoon to get on equipment and equipment is so crowded together
I would definitely recommend the Y to others. I enjoy the classes that I’m taking. I work full time and wish I had more class options on Saturday or in the evening.
I told a few people to join it’s a great person to be at. It’s great to meet new people especially if your retired
Need more water classes
Membership is very expensive for my family members and friends and i am having problems too and considering canceling soon
See question number 6 for my comments
Sorry to see you don’t have fields anymore for the children. Leaving the c out of ymca. Need to reevaluate the Monday morning yoga class . You would get much better participation with better teacher. Sh is nice but can’t teach. Only 9 or 10 are in that class, very sad.
Beautiful facility with friendly staff !
This is one of the best facity I've been to in a long time and I've belonged to several Y in my past. Love this one
The pool is closed every day of the week during peak times for kids swim practice. Share the pool. Normal people work in day and have to hit gym after.
Cause I’m disabled the only thing I can do is the water exercise. I love the class but not when they are teaching swim lessons to the kids. Screaming kids are not relaxing just fyi.
I had surgery so haven’t been in a few weeks. Headed back next week. Are the times still at 9:00 and 10:00?
I was a member of the Hernando YMCA for over 20 years. I noticed with the update of the equipment at the gym the front staff wasn’t overly friendly. Most of the time you would just scan yourself in and no one would acknowledge you. Also with the cost of everything going up, I was able to find a more cost efficient program fitness your way which the Suncoast YMCA will not accept. So many gyms around the YMCA accept the program and accommodate similar to a silver sneakers program which the YMCA will not accept it. I had to find an alternate to meet my health goals and affordability.
Offers a variety of classes and activities for all age groups. Instructors are prepared and knowledgeable of their participants.
Facility is clean and well taken care of.
Me siento cómoda en la ynca. Los programa Que tienen muy bariado me encanta
Would like more control over activity times but generally like what I get from the Y
everyone is friendly and helpful. The facility has almost everything people need for a healthy lifestyle
Welcoming Atmosphere. Fun & Effective Instruction.
Wasted a lot of money on the new machines that take that wrist band instead of putting more into the free weights. No standing calf raise machine and no hack squat machine. The new squat/ deadlift racks are great. Cable machines are okay. Dumbbells only go to 110. Only 2 squat racks. I’m 6’5 and barely fit in the leg extension and hamstring curl machines. I’ve been coming to the Y for almost 12 years. The remodel is nice but you did not ask your customers about what kind of equipment they’d prefer.
The additional growth of facility is little less personal now then prior years. Yet that almost always occurs with growth in population.
Do not appreciate the choice of "music" and some of the programming on the TVs but the exercise equipment is good.
Doesn't meet my expectations that much anymore
Difficult to reserve a space for silver sneakers stability & music too loud in strength lite class making it difficult to hear instructor
I love the programs available at the YMCA
Variety of classes and timings to choose from
He was part of a kindergarten school trip. I would like more info on sqim classes for him.
People leave their towels and water bottle on machines… while not using. Lots of socializing and talking while sitting on equipment and not exercising
I've been attending for 7 years now. Had I not had brain surgery in 2023 I would have not stayed away about 3 years. I have returned to a regular schedule now and bring my wife who was incorrectly diagnosed with Alzheimer. She does, however, have a permanent Basal Forebrain injury that was the result of a traumatic brain injury incurred in 2001. It only manifested itself when I experienced my brain surgery in 2023. Otherwise, I remain very pleased with our membership.
I truly feel that members concerns are dismissed and the YMCA doesn’t really care if we buy a membership or not
PLEASE fix the AC in the main gym
I have Family from Connecticut that come to visit often, they are joining their Y, so they can join me when I come to visit.
