I like the connection with the community at Blair YMCA
Please consider staggering classes during the day. You have too many classes starting at 9:00 a.m. that it creates a parking problem.
Most of the benches need replaced, they are not sturdy & I feel unsafe when I use heavy weights. Also, it is kind of cramped in the weight work-out area. How cramped you ask? Well today, I made myself uncomfortable along with two men using the machines by the window when my butt was sticking out towards them while doing bent over shoulder exercises on the cable machine. I think I had them trapped there till I was done with my set. Why do I think that you ask? Because I heard one man tell the other, "Lets leave, it's getting too crowded in here."
To help resolve this issue of tight quarters I suggest you move the 12x12 mat in the weight room to the aerobic room area. This would mean the aerobic area needs to be open all the time for people who just want to stretch and do PT in there. The 12x12 mat area set up in the weight room is too small & uncomfortable for 2 people to use at the same time if they don't know each other.
My husband says you need heavier dumbbells.
The pool and the sauna area , are always close early by eight p m. due to my work schedule , I cannot make it there during those hours. there are many young disruptive kids in the weight room. there should be a better job of policing kids that should not be in the weight room. kids' messing around and wrestling inside of the weight room. there has been an extreme lack of maintenance for broken equipment.
I would recommend the Y to anyone , couple or family because of how the offer so many opportunities for not only better health, but better living. I’ve attended at least 5 different Y’s and they all have excellent facilities, programs and staff. YMCA is at the top of my list. Michael Jones
I wish you offered Tumbling and I also thinks some revisions should be considered for the Kids Summer Camp
Truly appreciate Omaha management...huge improvement from previous 5 years with more capable lifeguards and the water has been warmer which i need for arthritis. Staff seems happier too. I do wish Blairvhad a stronger Senior Center program, M-F meals..but the exercise classes are good. My cost of me.bership for 65+ is wish was more affordable
I believe the Blair Y works hard to reach the multigenerational needs of the community. There are options that include a nursery to elder wellness programs, and numerous programs in between.
Additionally, each member has the option of setting up a program on their own that fits their fitness goals.
Whether it includes weights, cardio, swimming, pickleball, basketball, or a combination of several, as a member you have options. Good health through physical activity is its own reward.

It's great for our small town.
Friendly desk staff. I don’t use much that is offered.
It’s a great place for activities and making new friends!
I am so thankful for the Blair Family YMCA. Such a fine facility, excellent programming for all generations, but the real gem, is the staff. Warm,,welcoming kind staff persons that reflect the care of our fine community.
Clean and has everything I need.
Friendly professional staff. Great hours of operation. I encourage people to join.
The staff is friendly, the hours try to meet everyone's schedules, and the areas are clean.
Deeper cleaning is needed!
Always greeted upon coming into the ‘y’, which is great. And it is always clean. That scores big for me.
The locker rooms are not maintained nor clean
I go to several of the area YMCAs, based on my schedule for the day. This is the only Y that has not brought back (hand) towel service since COVID.
Cleanliness! Pick up the place. Clothes, shoes, water bottles, wipes laying around all the time. There has been a pile of clothes in the drop area of the gym since winter. See hair and dust floating around fitness area.
The showers and locker rooms look badly worn.
Increase hours, make fees competitive with anytime fitness.
Need to do a better job of repairing equipment in the fitness center in a timely manner. Front counter personal are always friendly and helpful.
No walking track
Lots of different activities. I use the pool and aqua class for weekly workouts and love that.
Workout equipment is in pretty poor condition, repairs take a while and there is only one of each machine, and the free weight benches get moved all over the place (not just the flat or raisable benches, but the bench press, preacher curl, etc. we have to readjust them often.
Weights are never put back where they belong or organized in any way.
The other amenities are great to have👍🏼
I think you guys are doing a great job. The service at the front desk has been awesome. The machines are repaired and working properly. That’s really important. The bathrooms are clean and the sauna is nice. I wish you had a nice Jacuzzi that is one thing that would be awesome. I think that’s a big miss
I am very likely to recommend the Y to the community, to family and friends. It's accesible to most people and with the option of using other Y's it is easy to take advantage of their programs when one is not at the 'home' Y.
I would like to see more programs for disabled athletes. If I remember corrrectly, it was in the original
Friendly staff
The staff are always welcoming & the equipment is clean. I really enjoy the pool & swim classes
One of the top reasons I recommend the YMCA is the sense of community. I have found so many encouraging people to chat with and willing to share their stories. Each time I go I learn something new about our community, about an exercise technique, or enjoy a laugh. The YMCA is not only about physical fitness, it is about building friendships and encouraging each other. Iron sharpeneth iron.
Very nice place and usually not too crowded! Very clean and friendly staff! However some of the machines in the gym have been broken for months so that is a little frustrating since it’s not that big of a gym. One of the bike pedals has been broken since January! Otherwise would totally recommend!!!!
locker rooms are pretty terrible. worst I have seen in any YMCA I have been to or been a member of in 52 years.
Gym is nice. Weight room is nice. Outside volleyball sand courts used to be great...but been neglected for years.
The staff is great but the equipment is outdated and needs rehauled. The weights for the classes are falling apart and machines in the weight room have been out of service for months.
There are middle age kids that "play" on the machines without any supervision and potentially break equipment. There is not an age limit enforced so many times it feels like a kids playground instead of a gym.
The classes are awesome and instructors are top notch, but after visiting some other day locations Blair is somewhat of a let down.
Appreciate the pool area hours opening up to every day at 5:30’am.
Within last 3 months, there have been at least 3 situations where guard hasn’t showed up in the morning until after 6:15. I now bring a pair of shoes and shorts to walk in tread mill for when this happens again. Other swimmers and people whose the sauna are much more upset when this occurs. It seems to have become the norm over the last few years (very rare before 2020)
The Blair YMCA is very conveniently located for me (1/2 mile from home), which is the only reason I’m still there. I have seen my membership costs steadily increase—and still there seems to be consistently non-functioning equipment (treadmills; toilet), empty supplies (tissues, hand soap/sanitizer), and not always ideally cleaned shared work out spaces (same hair or discarded paper on the floor for days in a row). I made a single attempt at requesting better access to hand soap in the restrooms and was told (politely) by staff WHAT I COULD DO to fix the issue myself. I do not work at the Y.
I’m trying to make better use of my membership to temper some of the cost/benefit gripes I have with my local Y by exploring amenities at other locations. I hope to do this over the summer to help guide decision-making about whether to keep my membership by the fall.
nice facility, friendly staff. I have already recommended you to other people
the classes are great, the fitness room is always incredibly cold and doesn't seem to get cleaned very often
I would like to see more open swim hours beyond the 4 ft. mark so others who do not lap swim can enjoy the pool also.
Replace or fix machines when they break down. Have responsible, helpful staff- the ones you have now are are helpful.
Lifeguards are unreliable and often don't show up at all on weekday mornings. The pool hours need to be better.
Allow members to use the adjoining classroom —for stretching and foam rolling—when no class is in session. That is, unlock the door between the two rooms.
As someone who lives in Blair and doesn’t go to Omaha very much at all, the decision to join the Greater Omaha YMCA family has only hurt me by increasing my monthly fee by more than a third, and offering nothing new. As the only place with an indoor pool and therefore a place to get varying kinds of exercise in the winter for my family, I am stuck with it, but it would be an unlikely scenario where I would recommend it to somebody else.
I have been a member for over 20 years and would not go anywhere else
The membership fees are a little expensive. Employees are friendly
Lots of different opportunities to workout; jogging, weights, pickle ball, bball, swimming etc. Clean facilities and assistants when there are needs.
The facility could be cleaner. We recently lost the lady who was doing a great job of cleaning and now I don't think the place gets the cleaning that it needs.
Staff is pleasant and always helpful.
I enjoy water aerobics very much! I would recommend it to anyone. I attend 2x’s per week. Both instructors are great! My fellow water aerobics friends are always friendly & supportive.
The gym could use improvement on equipment, it’s good for generic workouts but not for athlete’s. A lot of workouts for summer programs need to be modified
