It was the dependability and consistency.
Our overall experience working with ATI was extremely disappointing and fell well below the expectations that were set at the beginning of the project.
After experiencing a devastating house fire, we hired ATI because we believed we were engaging a professional restoration company with the expertise, resources, and systems necessary to manage a complex rebuild. Instead, throughout much of the project, we found ourselves performing many of the responsibilities that should have been handled by ATI’s team.
Communication was inconsistent, organization was lacking, and project oversight appeared fragmented. Rather than being guided through the process, we were frequently required to follow up on outstanding items, track decisions, coordinate information between parties, and ensure work was progressing as intended.
One of the most frustrating aspects of the project was the amount of time we spent providing information that should have been generated and managed by ATI. We routinely took measurements, created sketches, clarified layouts, and documented design intent because the information being provided to trades was either incomplete or inaccurate. In some instances, we were presented with rough hand-drawn sketches rather than detailed plans, requiring us to create our own documentation so the work could move forward correctly.
Selections and procurement were another recurring challenge. Decisions that had already been made and approved often had to be reconfirmed multiple times before orders could be placed or installations could proceed. The process became so repetitive and disorganized that we ultimately created a comprehensive selection spreadsheet simply to help ATI track the selections being requested from us. Even with that tool in place, it was common for selections to require verification three or four separate times before they were properly ordered or incorporated into the project.
The project also suffered from significant turnover. During the course of the rebuild, we worked with four different project managers. Each transition created additional delays, loss of continuity, and repeated conversations regarding decisions that had already been made. While each individual project manager appeared to be working hard, it was evident that they were managing an excessive number of projects simultaneously and were often overwhelmed by their workload. As a result, important details were frequently missed, communication suffered, and accountability became difficult to establish.
Perhaps most concerning was the project’s overall lack of progress. After approximately twelve months of extended deadlines, revised schedules, and repeated assurances that progress was being made, only about 40% of the overall scope had been completed. Despite ATI being retained to manage the restoration, we found ourselves dedicating substantial time to overseeing work, tracking deficiencies, coordinating next steps, and implementing organizational systems simply to keep the project moving.
Throughout the process, there were recurring issues involving scheduling, coordination, measurements, ordering, communication, and execution. Work often required clarification, correction, or follow-up before it could proceed properly. Rather than reducing the stress associated with recovering from a catastrophic loss, the restoration process became a significant additional burden.
Ultimately, ATI was terminated because of a prolonged pattern of poor project management, inadequate communication, lack of organization, and an inability to complete the project within a reasonable timeframe. The expectation when hiring a full-service restoration company is that the company will provide leadership, coordination, expertise, and accountability. Unfortunately, our experience was that those responsibilities frequently fell on us as the homeowners.
It is our hope that ATI uses this feedback to evaluate its staffing structure, project management processes, communication standards, and quality control measures so that future clients do not encounter similar challenges during what is already one of the most difficult periods a homeowner can experience.
This has taken too long and the crews they send show up late, once a week at the most, and cut corners. I don’t know if it’s a miscommunication aspect between crews and project managers or if they’re just padding what they bill me for my insurance claim.
I would recommend them.
The crew was very easy to work with. Very knowledgeable and professional. Would definitely call again if I needed any help!
I’m very unhappy with the outcome of the work as well as the entire process.
I doubt I'd recommend them. I felt like they treated my home like a job site and it's my beloved home.
They were good people and were reliable. They did a great job. They were very courteous, took care of everything and cleanup, and did a good job.
I don't think the communication was great. I had a job that officially started in January of '25 didn't get finished until January of '26. The person who was my contact on the job left the company and I didn't hear anything until they showed up at my door.
I always have a wonderful experience with ATI Restoration. They are very accommodating.
The crews were efficient, courteous and professional
Great response and follow up.
under a tree/gutter claim that put hole in wall and both roof's they came out to temporarily tarp which were small pieces not secure and left gutter hanging towards hole in house. So this caused extensive water damage / which we had to hire another company to do mitagation process for 10 days. This was all due to negligence on their part.
I would highly recommend.
We will never recommend ATI to anyone. Communication was terrible. Poor workmanship. Contractors most of the time showed up to work on the weekends- mostly Sundays like the parents house was a side job. Fairmont City doesn’t require permits, so we feel that’s the reason there was so much slack done and very under qualified people were sent to patch my parent’s home. The company got paid very well for the job that was done.
Quality of work done and the duration of the project left me feeling like I got taken advantage of, and a feel of regret that I didn’t just go with a local handyman.
Great workmanship, patient with change requests
All workers were professional and friendly.
I am likely to recommend ATI Restoration because they did a beautiful job.
Excellent customer service!
Steve Plant and Casey Shipp and her team, went above and beyond to help us right away. Because of this is mitigated lasting damage.
We had an issue with the work not being done properly. I am trying to reach out to get it fixed, but I am not able to contact them.
Did great work
Rebel, Josh , there crew do a great job. I found that Rebel and Josh were very honest and helpful with what went on.
The project manager Brian did not process my claim correctly and used unfair business tactics. I feel he took advantage of me and he also failed to perform his job as a project manager.
